The Swan Inn

Great menu, fabulous food and relaxing atmosphere. Our first visit was a complete success. It’s got a lovely menu- some classics such as fish and chips or a burger, and some unique dishes such as the chicken supreme I enjoyed - stuffed with breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese and sage served with hassle-bank potatoes and a red wine jus. The team that were on duty were genuinely friendly and professional. Real flowers and candles on each table, a roaring log fire and a relaxing vibe made for a very enjoyable night.

Simply wonderful food. Only stopped for lunch, but oh boy it was good.

Walked to the pub from Burford for Sunday Lunch. Fabulous food and selection of beers and wines. No taxis available so a long walk back in the dark which was fun.

Just came back from 2 nights in this beautiful Hotel/Pub. We stayed at the cottage, ground floor room. Beautiful views. Room was very specious, spotless clean and quiet. We walked around the village and surroundings and what a beautiful part of the UK. Pub food was outstanding. Great options on the menu.One of the best Carpaccio i have ever had and trust me i have tried many. Breakfast was delicious too. We for sure will be back. Thank you all at the Swan Inn we have had a very special weekend.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled onto a recommendation for the Swan Inn. It was the best meal we have ever had! If you’re anywhere near here you need to go for a meal. It was absolutely delicious! Highly highly recommended.

Very enjoyable overnight stay. Lovely food for our evening dining. Quiet room. We stayed in the Forge. Excellent breakfast.

Lovely pub in the Oxfordshire countryside and a very nice Sunday lunch. What I would say is update your online pricing. The meal prices are off by a few £’s but the wine pricing is way off eg rose wine 175ml £7.50 but when we got the bill we were charged £10.40 per 175ml glass of wine. A bit disappointing.

This beautiful Cotswold pub just outside Burford in the village of Swinbrook was a fantastic find. The starting point was a reference in a book to the pubs previous ownership by one of the Mitford sisters. As you enter the building, the Mitfords, in all their one time splendour are all about you. The pub itself is exquisitely a Cotswolds pub. Golden stone and old oak are all about. The beer was excellent both in choice and in condition. There is an extensive garden at the back with outside bar areas for times when the pub is full. When we arrived it was quiet and inhabited by a dozen very funny chickens who chose to sit on the tables. Although no food was taken the menu looked eclectic and interesting. Something for another time. There are also a number of tables out the front of the building across the road which had virtually no traffic. The village of Swinbrook is very worth a walk and the churchyard is home to the graves of most of the six Mitford sisters and their parents. Fascinating historical insight to English society at the end of the 19th and up to midway through the 20th century.

We stayed at Swan Inn for 2 nights, and couldn't have asked for a better setting to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful and comfortable, the meals (2 breakfasts and 2 dinners) exceptional, and the staff delightful. I think the secret is the perfect balance between generous hospitality and professionalism: everything runs like clockwork and yet you receive such personal attention. We would love to come back.

We had a lovely time here- the roast was delicious and plentiful. It’s on the pricier side, but worth it. I had the beef which was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were delicious. All of the staff were great, and we were made to feel very welcome. Would absolutely recommend!
